How it all happened…

It all started when Annabel married Andrew and moved her and her three children to his country farmhouse in Ireland. Already inhabited by many farm animals, Annabel and Andrew decided to turn the land they owned into a sanctuary for wildlife. Now they raise families of wallabies, lemurs, raccoons, marmoset monkeys and even a wolf pack - to name a few!

The sanctuary is purely run on donations made from annual open days as well as their own money. Fortunately, the majority of the animals are healthy and happy, however many animals have to be hand reared and bottle fed every two hours for months on end in order to keep them alive. It’s safe to say that the sanctuary has become very much a part of the family.

As it was crucial to keep funds flowing in order to protect these animals, a new dream was born! To welcome holiday makers, tourists and animal lovers to the farm. The Log cabin, originally built for the kids (who have now fled the nest) was refurbished into a self-sufficient home for guests. After thriving on Airbnb, the idea came about, to built shepherd huts and create a true Glamping experience!

With the first hut launching in summer 2020 and more to follow - the journey is only just beginning!
